Family Connectionsâ„¢ Participant Code of Conduct
Family Connectionsâ„¢ is taught in a confidential, supportive environment conducive to learning skills to support your relationship with a person with BPD or its symptoms, including emotion dysregulation. Our code of conduct is the standard through which we honour and respect the needs of our participants and co-leaders. To enrol in a Family Connectionsâ„¢ course, we ask that you agree to abide by our code of conduct.
What we ask of you as a Family Connectionsâ„¢ program participant:
• Maintain the confidentiality of all participants and leaders by not discussing their personal information and situations outside the program. If the course is being delivered over telehealth please don't allow people who are not registered participants to listen in to the session. Everyone shares personal histories and issues concerning themselves, their families and the person with BPD they love. No recordings are permitted.
• Plan to attend all 12 classes since each class builds on the previous one. Weekly engagement also increases trust and reinforces skills.
• Respect the experiences and feelings of each participant and honour their time to share.
• Respect each others' cultural, political and religious differences.
• Provide an atmosphere of open-mindedness, support and non-judgment so that others will feel comfortable sharing. All of us have different experiences with people who suffer from BPD.
• Refrain from any endorsement or promotion of individuals, groups, or businesses in which you have a personal or financial interest in as this is not allowed.
By checking this box, I certify I have read the above Family Connectionsâ„¢ Participant Code of Conduct and agree to abide by the rules as explained in this document when I enrol in a course.
